Dr.
Sharmin Akter Sumi is a talented and accomplished plastic surgeon from
Bangladesh, born in 1982. She is known for her enthusiasm, amiability, and
hardworking nature. In 2005, she graduated in Medical Science and went on to
obtain the prestigious FCPS degree in Surgery from BCPS, Dhaka, Bangladesh in
2015. She also completed her MS in Plastic Surgery from Dhaka University in
2016.
Dr.
Sharmin has an impressive professional history, having worked as an Assistant
Registrar and Consultant in the Plastic Surgery department of Dhaka Medical
College Hospital, which is the highest tertiary level government hospital in
Bangladesh. Currently, she is working as an Assistant Professor at the Sheikh
Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, which is one of the
largest Burn and Plastic Surgical Institutes in the world.
With
a long experience and updated knowledge in Breast and Aesthetic Surgery, Dr.
Sharmin is a professional, empathetic, and honest plastic surgeon who maintains
excellent rapport with her patients. She is also experienced in Oncosurgery,
Trauma and Burn Reconstruction, and Hand Surgery.
Dr. Sharmin has participated in various specialized training courses abroad, including:
v Fellowship Training on Plastic Surgery at Singapore General Hospital.
v Advanced Breast Surgery Training at the
National Institute of Breast Cancer in Bangkok, Thailand.
v A workshop on Oncoplastic Surgery at All
India Medical Institute in India.
v Her contributions to the field are
reflected in her 17 article publications in various national and international journals.
v Dr. Sharmin also serves as the Office
Secretary of the Society of Plastic Surgeons of Bangladesh.
